Newbie needs a new PC. Question about monitors!

Hi i need a new PC and also want to get a new 27" monitor. is there any certain level of processor, RAM, or video card that is necessary for a monitor of that size? certain connections to look for? or will any old PC do? thanks! :o
 
what is your current setup and what do you plan on doing with it?

and what resolution is the monitor?

Well you technically can use that with anything. But you will need a good enough graphics card in order for it to be worth it. Others can suggest a card if necessary. Do you know what card you have? Or the model of your computer if it is a prebuilt?
 
i dont have the computer picked out yet. one had integrated x4500, and another has gforce 310. the monitor i havent picked out yet. i want to use it for working (forms, pictures, etc). thanks.

Be patient, bumping like that accomplishes nothing. Once someone more experienced than I comes along, they will help.
 
as long as yo don't do any gaming you should be fine. according to intel's site it has dx10 and supports "everyday games," whatever that means :P not sure as far as whether or not you'll be able to use aero in windows 7 though. you'll probably have to wait and see (if you're using windows 7). i would assume so though.
