Okay so im adding a secondary hard drive.. It is used, I got it out of a computer that had mother board issues.. It has windows 98 installed on it and a bunch of other crap that I would like to wipe clean… but that can be done later… I have never done this b4, I open my computer up, put the drive in.. and used the same IDE cable that’s hooked up to my main HD, it had a additional plug on it that said slave.. And it says master where it is plugged into the original drive. (same cable with two plugs on it) Okay so anyways it was the same thing for the power cable… And went to boot computer up and it ends up with a black screen that has a blinking white curser or whatever , I end up having to turn off and unplug the secondary (used) HD to boot up.. I asked some friends about it and they said I need to go into BIOS to configure it.. Well I went there but cant figure out what to do?

What should I do? If you need me to go there and get info to repost here I can…

Also (on a side note)I tired taking the master end of the IDE cable and not even using my HD that came with computer, and hooking it up to the used HD and it booted up in windows 98 but ended up crashing….

So I know the HD is good…..

What shall I do?

Thanks Everyone….
