Newegg.com for laptop/notebook??

Is there a website where I can buy laptop processors, hard drives, and memory?? (like newegg.com, but speciallizes in laptops) I would like to either a) buy a cheap laptop/used laptop and upgrade the processor memory, and possibly hard drive or b) (if possible) start from scratch and instead of building a custom computer, build a custom laptop.

I'm sure I could customize a laptop with dell or something and have them build it for me, but that takes the fun out of it :D So if anyone could help me out, that would be great.

You can't do that much customizing with a laptop... There are a few that are offered as just barebones, but all you can add is the RAM, CPU, WIFI, and HD... In the end it'd probably be cheaper to just get a pre-built from newegg...
 
College... figured it would be alot more convenient to have a laptop, and I thought maybe I could build one
 
Newegg has alot of laptop parts, you can buy processors, RAM, hard drives, and optical drives for laptops.
 
if it's just for school, just get a cheap one

i got an averatec 13" widescreen with an amd64x2 1.6ghz, 512mb of ram, and an 80gb hard drive for $500, and i absolutely love it!

Thing's tiny, and the battery lasts 2-3 hours when taking notes, and never less than 2 hours regardless of what i'm doing (which is good for such a small battery)

it's not fast enough to replace my desktop, but it does everything i need it to do for class (and WAY more) and didn't cost much, so i don't have to worry about it constantly
