Newegg Rebates???

I was wondering, can I count on Newegg to send me the rebates they promise? I've ordered from Best Buy and never get the rebates so I try to avoid them or count the price without the rebate.
Thanks,
John

In only sent away for one rebate from newegg, and i got that. its actually the mfg. of the product, not newegg.

I went ahead and gave them a shot last week. I'm waiting on a notebook to come in from them. I know this will surely be too late, but I'd like to give some feedback to the board once the rebate does (or doesn't) come in. I have asked the same question, and apparently Newegg is not too bad on rebates (or so I've heard from a limited few). However, I have heard repeatedly that their customer service sucks. They pretty much have price going for them...which is saying a lot.

Newegg Rebate or Rebates Problem

Well, my order showed up. For the most part everything is fine. There was a descent sized scratch on the housing of the notebook, but for the price, I don't care.

As for the rebate, they did not send me a receipt for the purchase. This is a little weird. They didn't even include a packing slip. It's a little unprofessional, but I guess it's just an oversight. I'll give them a call tomorrow to see if I can get another receipt. My 30 day clock has been ticking since last week, and it says I need a "copy" of the receipt. So, we'll see. Either way, it was only a $50 rebate on a laptop, but it's still an ok chunk of change. I'll keep you posted.

Well, I got it straightened out for now. I downloaded the new invoice from their website, and now I have it mailed today.

So, we'll see.

** Update **

Well, here we are in nearly mid-March, and still no rebate. They keep saying it is in process, but we'll see. I just love these company's stall tactics. How hard can it possibly be to just mail someone there 50 bucks? LOL. Oh well, I live and learn. The rebate was extra savings. I definitely wouldn't use a rebate to change my decision of where to buy something. It's just that you would expect more out of Newegg with all their "cult followers" on computer message boards.

I've got a better one, my parents got my little brother a creative media center thingy with a $250 rebate (was like $450 but then minus rebate). Anyways, the rebate hadn't come for awhile so my mom called them up to ask about it and they said they had already shipped it out and it should have been received a long time ago, which it most definitely had not been received. She asked for them to come up with the check number and when it was cashed, all of which they should be easily able to do, but they had no information on it and wouldn't do anything to help about it or whatever. SO Creative screws people with rebates too, dunno what she ever did about it as I don't live at home anymore, but the thing was a piece of crap to begin with so she was pissed

well i ordered something else from newegg, i sent the rebate away, but never got it back.

we dont have that kind of thing in the UK, by the sounds of it i think thats a good thing. Basically if its got a discount, its already taken off the price, none of this mail in the reciept thing, if its gonna eb cheap then they just mark the price down, simple. i never understood MIR's on newegg, now i am enlightened.

its the mfg's way of getting you to buy a product, then not shipping out the rebates.

We have instant rebates which take it off at time of purchase, and mail-in rebates where they give you a check for the sale (which usually takes 8-12 weeks).

***Update***

I did get the rebate a few months ago. It took forever, but I got it. I guess their plan is to make you sweat.

Most companys will send the rebate, its more of a way to provide a discount to some of the people, since maybe people will forget about it once they buy the product or not send al the information they needed to send.

Most rebates are 6-8weeks if not longer.
