Hi
Ive recently built a computer.
Here are the specs
PSU - Enermax EG701AX-VE 600w Noiosetaker
MOBO - Asus M2N-SLI Delux Socet AM2
CPU - AMD Athlon64 x2 Dual Core 4200+
Memory - 2GB DDR2 800 PC6400 SDRAM
Sound - X-Fi
Graphics - 2x MSI NX7600GS Geforce 16x SLI Video Cards

Now Ive hooked all this up and it all runs sweet.
The problem I have is when I connect power to my hard drive unit its like there is not sufficent power to run it. All I get is a small surge of power running through to light up the fans and it shuts down. Once I disconnect the hard drive it runs sweet so Ive narrowed it down to the hard drive.
Can anyone tell me what is going on.
My hard drive is a Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 Sata 2 300GB
Ive tried using the sata2 connectors from the PSU but to no avail and I have also used a sata2 to molex connector cable to see if that works but to no avail also.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks:eek:

hard drives sounds like its busted.
test the rig with another hdd...
maybe you have an extra one or a friend has one?
Thanks for the quick reply.
The hard drive is brand new and never been used. Any thoughts

yeah. Just bc its new dosent mean it cant be busted. I bought a belkin router and wireless internet card. The card worked perfectly but the router was shot right out of the box. The sad truth is that sometimes you cant always get what you want. In anycase try another hdd
