I clicked on a link to a newsgroup or usenet or something like that and after following outlook express steps it said: "Type the name of the internet news (NNTP) server your internet service provider has given you." Well I never got one from my ISP. I asumed that a newsgroup was just the same as a forum, what's the difference?? And how would i join one or view one or whatever, and how would i get past that step of the internet news server?

Thanks Cromewell, So would i be able to use my msn hotmail as the e-mail or would i need something else like Microsoft outlook? When is says your ISP's Mail server, i am fairly sure mine doesn't have one, so if i subscribed to google newsgroup for example could i go to other newsgroups too?

You can use any email address, it doesn't have to be your ISPs news feed/server. You can subscribe to any number. Look under accounts in outlook (or Thunderbird/Outlook Express/etc if you prefer) and add a news server.
