nForce4 + AMD Drivers!

Hi,

I have a quick question about the nForce4 motherboard drivers and the AMD drivers.

Firstly should I download the nForce4 drivers from the motherboard manufactures website or get them from NVIDIA website?

On the ASUS website I think they are up to v6.65 for WinXP and on the NVIDIA website they are on v6.70.

And lastly if I am having no problems with games est should I bother downloading the AMD drivers, got told by a few people that I should but im not convinced.

Thank for your help.

if your not having problems then there is no real reason to update, but if you wanted to i would get it from the motherboard's site.

Heya

For the Nforce4 drivers, I would go straight to Nvidia. However, if you are not seeing any problems, you can always update them later.

Drivers for AMD or ASUS? What specifically are the drivers you're looking for?

Both, I was looking on the ASUS website for updates for software and saw that they had Nvidia chipset drivers disk for Windows V6.65 but on the Nvidia site they have v6.70 so I was wondering if I should get the chipset drivers from ASUS or Nvidia.

Now on to the AMD driver, I saw on the AMD website that they had drivers for the AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual Core Processor and was wondering if it would be necessary to download and install them, as I got told that I should weather or not I was having and problems.

Thanks.

As long as it's not a beta you should probably get the most recent drivers straight from nVidia. Companies can be slow to post the newest versions. If you're not having problems with your X2 then you probably dont need new drivers.

Thanks for your help much appreciated.

Just out of interest would I need the nForce4 AMD/Intel X16 or the nForce4 AMD Edition don’t want to download the wrong one and mess things up, my motherboard is an ASUS A8N-SLI Premium.

Thanks again.

Could someone please advise to what ones I should use, been looking around but have found no answers. "nForce4 AMD/Intel X16" or "nForce4 AMD Edition" ?

Thanks.
