Nibbler

I checked some places close to me that I thought might be able to cut a whole in the P180. I checked 3 machine shops, and a water jet cutting place. They all said they can't do it without making the outside of the panel all messed up cosmetically. So I think that the only way to get a good clean cut and a window into the P180 is to send it in to http://www.performance-pcs.com/. I think I will do it eventually and pay the $69. They cut it and install the window for you.

Found a new way to do the window in the P180. Just use something like a band saw or scroll saw to slowly cut the case and file or sand it down to the line to get the imperfections, then buy a window kit from HERE and mention in the text field that you want a P180 window kit and make the price $39 ($30 for the kit $9 for shipping). Then install the kit when you get it.

I used one of these to cut the hole in the side of my case

just make sure you have a thin disk in it (1mm or so) and afterwards you can smoothen the edges using a ( sorry,.. dont know the word.. so here's a pic :x )

Yea.. i was actually quite afraid when i Used it.. but when you take your time, it works really nice :)

Oh, I get you now. I came up with an idea in Photoshop that shows what I might want for a window placement. What do you think?

I would bring it up and to the right so the right side is along the drive bays/left side along the back of the case (or a small margin of an inch?)/bottom along the top of the PSU/HD area, top along the top or slightly below (1 inch?). The, to show off your PSU, you could make a separate on where the PSU is?

Actually I'm going to order a *custom* window kit from this website. Here's a pic of what the window will look like:

It is a really big window showing pretty much everything in the case. So I am putting my wiring skills to the test to make this look good.
