Hi peeps
i recently got a evega nivida 7600GT, in the spec it is supposed to have 1500 mhz memory speed but running coolbits 2 i found the memory speed is 750  here is the pic

what u think:confused: was i ripped caus i can return it if its fake :(

here is the card i got

http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=17948&vpn=256-P2-N553&manufacture=eVGA

spec
Performance
NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT
580 MHz GPU
12 Pixel Pipelines
400 MHz RAMDAC

Memory
256 MB, 128 bit DDR3
1500 MHz (effective)
24.0 GB/s Memory Bandwidth

It probably means 1500Mhz DDR. DDR=Double data rate so if it shows up as 750Mhz times that by two and thats the DDR value.

totally correct. 2 times 750 = 1500. Specs usually list the 1500MHz, but in overclocking programs they use the 750Mhz.

yeah, nvidia does that alot. From what i see, ati usually writes the actually memory speed, not the effective speed.

ok,
also any other feed back apprecaited to confirm this
Its the same on almost all new cards. The memory may be marketed as 1200Mhz, but when you use a program it says 600Mhz. To find out what it is you just multiply it by two.

750 x 2 = 1500Mhz

yep :)
lol im a little late, but i agree. each mhz is effectively 2mhz... its pure genius... lol 750mhz worth of heat, 1500mhz worth of performance.

i believe they did the same thing with ddr2 AGAIN and they can advertise it as 4 times as fast as its clocked... because it is :) lol
for instance.. ddr2 533 would be 133mhz x4 :) lol
and ddr2 667 is 166mhz x4
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DDR2
they still have yet to perfect the technology though, ddr2 533 runs at approximately ddr400 speeds, with decent timings... and slower than it when the ddr400 is in dual channel.

Not just Nvidia, but also DDR Ram. Like for example they say DDR400, really the speed is 200Mhz  , it's annoying:( , confuses new people to the computer world, lol.

How come I don't have that overclock option in my 7800 GTX? How do I enable it? I have everything else he has except for the frequency one.
