How are you non Air conditioned computer owners keeping your computer cool.

On the hottest day of the year in Ohio 95 degrease my AMD Athlon 64 3200+ is running a 41 degrees celsius with a load temp of 48 degreases.

Well my comps nothing special but she still can get hot :D

I crank all my fans to 100% speed using Speedfan(Not actualy that noisy)
And i have the side of my case off.

But its not so hot here in uk now,Last week it was very hot so my fans are running normal now.

How do you not have A/C? 95 ain't no record, but still way too hot for my taste. Even my relatives in Michigan have A/C lol

I just blast my fans and possibly a house fan too. The other day it was 113F here, but we have AC so it was a cool 76F in my house.

I live in an old house that would be really expensive to put A/C in. 95 is about the hottest it has been in Canton Ohio this year.

oh my god, it was 102F today in humble new jersey! i thought i was going to die when i went to my buddy's house, even the pool was hot, so i went inside my house cranked the A/C to 65 and played oblivion :) hey it was dangerous out there!

I think those window units make a house look ugly. :P At least when they're at the front of the house. =/ A/C is nice - but expensive. :(

ugly but cool house > dying of heat stroke/dehydration

but yah, they aren't exactly bling bling for your curb appeal.

That's not that bad. My computer is idling at around 38C, though my load temp is barely higher than that. It's gonna be 103 in boston tomorrow

if you have a heater built in your house than its not that expensive to get central air since they both use the same duct work, but if your house is so old that you have neither than...forget a new pc..

Oh ok. ya i didnt mean to bash ur place or nothin.

might consider one of those window units?

I wish I could do that I would first have to rewire the entire upstairs and put my room on a different circuit. The people how built my house where probably drunk when they built it.

You kids b*tch too much, haha, it was 112 here in SD...the last 2 weeks have been all over 100 w/o heat index....i never think its that hot...we still played our baseball tourney games and all that....

I have no AC in my room, unlike every other room in my house. Is probally 85F in here right now, and my CPU is idleing at 40C with my case open.

102 yesterday, 90 in the PC room, humid as anything. At least none of you guys had to go to the ER thinking you were having a heart attack like I did. Turns out it was heat cramps.
And sometimes, people don't have A/C because it costs an arm and a leg to run. Even one window unit can cost almost $90 a month to operate.
Example: 1000W unit running continuously = 1kWh per hour = 24kWh/day
24 x $0.12/kWh = $2,88/day
$2.88 x 30 days =$86.40/month
And that's just ONE window unit!

Tom

My parents pay ~$400/month for A/C...it's worth it to keep the house a steady 70-72F all day long. Well, compared to heat stroke...if we bumped it to 80F it would probably only be ~$250/month.
