No access to HDD

I'm trying to sort out a laptop HDD problem. When the HDD is in the laptop it simply just wont boot, no error messages, just nothing.

I've taken out the drive and hooked it up to my desktop. When I try and access it, it states: G:\ is not accessible.
The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable.

Under drive management all three partitions are healthy, but the problem (Primary) partition is showing as 32GB RAW and not NTFS. I've tried to run chkdsk and it just displays the following message: The disk check could not perform because Windows cannot access the disk.
I do have a lot of very important documents on there and can't afford to loose them.

I have tried a few recovery programs but they just can't find the drive.

Any ideas? Many thanks in advance.

Is your important data on the inaccessible partition? If it isn't then back it all up to a desktop or external drive and reformat it.

Download the drive makers disk diagnostic utility and see if it fixes the problem.
