HELP!
everytime i start my gfs computer i get a black screen with a diagnostic program running, INTEL boot agent FE v4.1.10. It begins to load and then tells me NO BOOT FILENAME RECEIVED. I have never really worked with gateway computers because i have built my own. Can someone tell me how to fix this or correct this menu from coming up. It just keeps rebooting itself after the no boot filename comes up. NEED HELP:confused:

Is there any other message such as "No operating system found" also? Or was that the only message received at the black screen? Can you give us a little more detail at the black screen? Such as writing everything down because I'm pretty sure that wasn't the only thing there.

intel boot agent can be saying that you have the device priority mixed up. try setting the hdd first.

In need of help as well

I have a Toshibi laptop that until today was working fine. Now it won't boot and gives me the same Intel message that the other poster had.

Entire message looks like this:
Intel Boot Agent FE v4.1.10
Copyright 1997-2003

CLIENT MAC ADDR: 00 08 0D DA 37 F9 GUID: 109F6400 8424 11D8 80D1 B15344013144 PXE-E53: No boot filename received

PXE-M0F: Exiting Intel Boot Agent.
Insert system disk in drive.

I went into the bios and checked the boot order. HDD was still the first option. I can't find my XP disk to boot from, but I'm worried that it could be some type of virus.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you might also want to check the disk priority. that might be the problem. or otherwise some operating system files might be lost

According to the bios, the boot order is still hard drive first. I even put everything on default and saved. But it still just showed the blinking cursor in the top left, then showed the Intel screen.

If I can just unplug the HDD and retrieve the data I'm a happy man. Do you think that's still possible?
