It's not working probably because you didn't install XP on the machine you're going to use it on. You have to install whatever OS on the computer you want to run it on. Things don't work if you do that. XP basically installed itself according to the specs on the machine you installed it on.

If you install a OS on a computer then swap it to another one, chances are its not going to boot because of driver conflits.(95% of the time its the Sata/IDE driver) There are things you can do to have a better chance to boot but to late now since you already took it out of the other computer. Just run a repair install.

wont boot from the cd in this one and its worked for every other one ive done atleast with xp it does vista doesnt though

i know it isnt the hard drive we've swapped hard drives through this thing like a whore and i know swapping xp installs works ive done it on like 10 different computers with the same hard drive lol
the only thing i can think of is maybe the bios needs to be reset or something but ive tried everything and have no other old intel board( my other board had the agp slot torn off)

no :( igot vonfused when i couldnt the only way i get psat the screen is pressing ctrl alt delete and then it falshes somethign real quick about 80 pin ide not connected and itll go into windows for half a second

ok got past the boot screen for windows improper shutdown.. unfortunatly its a bsod on the otherside :(:( lol got the cd drive to boot but everytime it gets to the blue screenfor setup it powers itself off :(:(:(:(

Try a new hard drive with a new cable and try to install any OS on it just to see if it's your HDD that's causing this problem. If not it looks like you have to f-disk the old HDD.
