Well, i just built a new computer. I have a copy of windows 7 that i loaded up, but when it gets to installing it i get this message:

"A required cd/dvd drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or usb flash drive, please insert it now.

Note: If the windows installation media is in the CD/DVD drive, you can safely remove it for this step."

I tried putting in the cd that came with the cd/dvd drive, but i get a similar error message. Anyone know whats wrong?

Check your bios for sata controller setting labeled as ahci/raid and change to native IDE or IDE mode.

once had a problem like that and what i did was to choose the custom installation option,->clicked refresh on the prompt for"where do you want to install the operating system".after refreshing i was able to see the hard disk and its various partitions.the problem am having also now is while the installation,it stops due to the error message 0X80070017,claiming some files may be curropt or missing.i wonder how possible this is as its a clean win 07 promo copy.
