no display on boot

got another computer, just crashed and lost everything off of the hdd except the preinstalled/bundled software, i have to reinstall the graphics drivers and the like. so i put the card in and start the computer and itboots up normally, go into device manager and disable the onboard card and double check and make sure the drivers arent still installed. i install the drivers for the card (radeon x700 pro) and restart, all goes well and i shut down for the night.

the next morning i go to startup my computer, and the fan starts and its obviously starting up but i dont get anything on the screen. so i plug in another monitor, i have one plugged into the onboard and one into the x700 and i turn it off and boot it again. i still dont get anything on either screen. i take out the radeon x700 and it boots up fine and the onboard card works fine, but why is this? also the onboard card doesnt appear to be disabled, you know how when you disable the onboard the screen "goes big" and the resolution goes to something like 600x480, well it appears to be normal (1244x1024 i think) even though in the device manager it shos the onboard card as disabled.

any and all help is appreciated.

Have you tried mother board troubleshooting? have your speakers or headphones plugged in, and start her up and see if it says system failed vga test? try that

heh..i called tech support, i had already done 90% of what they told me to do, and they told me to disable the card then shutdown instead of restarting when i'm prompted to restart. well, i shut down and when i go to turn the computer on it takes me to this screen "windows could not start". so i try starting windows normally, windows begins to start, then it shuts off and taes m,e to the screen again and i try starting in safe mode, it does the same. i did it in each of the options and every time it takes me back to that screen. damnit!
