no floppy drive

can anyone help. my pc has just installed a floppy drive and i dont have one. why is that?

ok a bit vague sorry when i boot my pc, on the boot screen its says "floppy disk(s) fail (40)" never said that before i dont think. then when windows (vista) starts it installs drivers for a floppy disk drive and shows a floppy disk drive in my computer. problem is i dont have one. its not a big problem i know but just a bit annoying

double check the connections and make sure the cable is not backwards.

That is not the problem. All computres do that if you select "seek floppy drive at boot" . Either disable that or disable the floppy drive. Thats it.

Yes. You enabled "Seek Floppy" in it, disable it, but that problem may still be there. Disable the floppy drive in the first tab you see. (first tap in top left corner. forgot what its called)
