no internet after windows 8 pro install

just installed window 8pro on my desktop, everything seems good except there is no internet when it was fine just before the windows install , no ethernet or wireless. any help is appreciated. thank you
 
You need to install the ethernet driver/wireless if it has it. Is this a store bought pc or a custom build? Would need model of pc or model of motherboard if custom built to give you the proper driver software to download and install. Question... Why would you install windows 8 when its no longer supported? You can still upgrade to windows 10 for free and it's support ends in 2025.
 
i put it together probably nine yrs ago, cant even remember all the spec . intel motherboard i7 something processor, good memory for that times. it has a add on assus internet adapter thats been working fine until i started messing with the hard drive partitions. thats why i had to reinstall windows 8 pro because i had no windows 10. now i have system working with no internet. i wish i had a disk windows 10 to put back in. i have to get the internet going again to get win 10.
 
I still need the model of motherboard for the ethernet adapter or the model of wifi adapter. Or you can look in device manager for entries that still need a driver and give me the 4 digit vendor and device id numbers. They look like this.

Just right click on each device still needing a driver and click on properties, click on details tab and change property to hardware ids. So this hardware id is VEN_8084 and DEV_15B8.

Once you get internet then its just a matter of going here and download the media creation tool and follow the prompts to upgrade that pc.


Or click on update now and it should automatically upgrade it to 10.
 
If anything, open System Information and see if it shows the motherboard information.

Otherwise go to Command Prompt and type wmic baseboard get product,Manufacturer,version,serialnumber and press enter. Hopefully it will show the motherboard model.
