Has Anyone dipped into this game yet?

I'm on the fence - part of me wants to try it out, but the other part says it kinda looks flat and boring.

Anyone have any hands on review/opinion? Is it worth a go!? or just overhyped!?

I've heard it's got crazy technical problems and is just another unfinished and shoddily launched title that relied on its hype to sell.

From what I've heard the game itself is decent but the launch and overall technical aspect of the game are garbage.

In trailers and reviews the graphical quality looks shitty, but I was hoping it wasnt indicative of the game overall.

The more reviews I read it seems like, once again, hype has made a game rather than standing on its own.

I can't justify taking a chance on these new titles at $70 a pop..

Two players in the same exact coordinates not being able to interact killed it for me

That was awesome.

I had it pre-ordered from Amazon (Prime usually gets discounted games for pre-order, this was the case here too) so even if it was horrible I wouldn't be out $60. So far I like it. I had one glitch the second day and it's been seamless since. Keep in mind the trailers can be a bit misleading - like you spawn and immediately have a ship and can explore. That's just not the case. It's a build/explore/survival game. It can be a bit repetitive, but if anyone has ever bought more than one CoD game or played Warcraft for more than a day, their argument about doing the same thing over and over is immediately invalidated. Graphics-wise, I find them to at least on-par, and in some cases better than the trailers. Watch the first trailer released and compare it to actual gameplay on YouTube - noticeable difference since that initial teaser. It's more of a Destiny/Ratchet and Clank style as opposed to a Last of Us or Tomb Raider rendering, though not nearly as cartoony as Ratchet.

I didn't get this game to interact, I got it to putz around in and just enjoy exploring. *When* player interaction becomes available via a Patch (which I'd bet money it will be at some point, as well as some sort of player trading system) that will just be bonus. Personally, I'm glad this isn't 'Warcraft in Space' and I hope it never becomes that.

Edit: I will say this about the flight system (and it may be considered 'glitchy' by some)... I wish there was more control planet-side. I don't like the artificial 'floor' altitude you can't dip below unless you activate the landing sequence. I want to skim across an ocean, 3 feet above the water while in an atmospheric dogfight just as much as I want to weave between trees and mountains trying to lose something firing at me from behind. I hope a future patch allows for that.

I've spent a bunch of time reading reviews, looking at videos, and reading comments on forums and steam, and I'm honestly glad I have not purchased this game. It seems to be one of the biggest let-downs, and over-hyped games of 2016.

People are very specific too..not just comments like 'this game sucks', but actual detailed accounts of glitches, flaws, false promises, and general disappointment. I've heard multiple times that even high-powered PC are experiencing lag, poor FPS, and other issues not seen in other titles.

I think the biggest consistent comment from hundreds of reviewers is the $66.49 price tag. (Canada Dollars) For that kinda coin I'd expect pretty consistent positive reviews.

Also,,,is it just me or does it look like a poorly illustrated water-color painting?

It's goddamn expansive :O

To be honest I wanted to try it, but not for 60€... I got Elite Dangerous instead, hell of a game too!

Yeah finally I won't even try to get it later when the price drops... Elite Dangerous has become one of my favorite game, I mean, the whole galaxy at 1:1 scale :D
