No mouse, no touch pad either

Last night I left my Acer Aspire 1, N20C5 plugged in to charge the battery. I had left it on, maybe I should not have done so.
This morning I rebooted it and now I have no mouse or touch pad.
I used the tab button and did a Troubleshoot, but it states that the mouse is working properly.
Can anyone shine a light on this problem?

Maybe the touchpad got turned off accidentally. Try pressing Fn + F7.

I was finally able to get the USB mouse to work.
Will definitely try this.
