No onboard graphics?

I'm looking at this MoBo right now:

It looks nice and all, w/ the 790fx chipset and all, but I look at the specs and it says no on-board graphics. I was under the impression that all modern motherboards nowadays have on-board graphics. Is this because they assume you will put a separate card in there instead?

You'd be surprised, It just adds to the cost. If your going to buy a G-card then why worry about an on board setup? I guess encase the card fails, but either way its just an extra component. I was thinking the same thing when I got my board, but I just put that thought aside because I was pumped about my 4870.

It would be for a PC that wouldn't need anything better than onboard for graphics. This PC has Nvidia 6150SE onboard and I'm OK with it. I mean I realize it could be better, but it does all the basic things, and I can play some pretty good games- not on teh best detail but hey they don't chug along really slow.

If thats the case you could just go for a AMD 780G chipset board. Better onboard than a 6150SE, plus you have a PCIe slot for a video card upgrade later if you want to.

Most low-end motherboards have on-board graphics. I guess they assume that if you're not going to put a lot of money into a motherboard, that you're not going to put a lot of money into an aftermarket graphics card as well. And the same goes for those motherboards that have no on-board. If you're going to fork $150 into a motherboard, you're most likely going to put some money into a decent graphics card as well.
