Hello everyone,

I am having an issue with Outlook 2010.

UPDATE: When I create an email profile in Outlook, I get as far as the test, where it checks incoming/outgoing and it won't pass.

Additionals to know:
-About a month ago, Century Link swapped my modem
-I have had Outlook send before
-I have Century Link DSL 12mb down

If anyone can chime in and throw me some ideas, I would appreciate.
(ports, settings, etc)

Thank you in advance,
SM

Well if you were sending before on a different modem and nothing else changed that would indicate that this is likely the modem/router they sent you blocking ports.

HERE is the website for your ISP which has a table for the outgoing/SMTP settings. Depending on which outgoing server you are using, you would need to open the standard SMTP ports 25, 587 and/or 465. Most likely is 587, which is the default port if you are using SSL encrypted SMTP. (Which, by the way, you should ensure is selected in your server settings in Outlook.) Perhaps also try opening these ports on your local software firewall if one is enabled.

If you are still not able to connect after opening these ports then I would call your internet service provider and ask them for assistance as it seems to be something they might have caused.
