No paging at all

Many people have something to say about this subject, and many cannot agree. So what is the real truth? If you disable the pagefile, will it be 100% gone? Some says yes, others say no (that Windows in secret creates one anyway).

Some also say that not all applications can run without one, even if there is enough real RAM to support it.

HI there,
actually, the paging file probably is 100% gone. however, i would keep it on, just in case your comupter needs it. heres what i did:

start PF was at 2GB with a maximum size of 4GB

is set it to 2MB(minimum allowed) and left it to have a maximum size of 4GB works good for me!!

Good luck

Irrespective of how much RAM you have there are software programs that insist on page file memory. If you decide to do away with it then depending on what software you have running will determine whether an error gets thrown up or not.

Obviously with a system low in physical RAM then it makes sense to keep the paging file.

on my old machine,i only had 1.25Gb of pc3200 and disabling my pagefile would make it faster.
