Hey folks was wondering if anyone could tell me why my windows vista wnt update to service pack one it is a genuine copy i built the computer myself (do not know how coming onto these forums shows i know nothing) its frustrating because every other update works but the service pack:mad:

I have tried what you suggested but it still wnt install any chance you could give some tips to installing a os a might not have it done properly

Make an ISO image file of your Microsoft Windows Vista DVD-ROM disk and then in that ISO image file slipstream the service pack 1 and 2 and burn that on the empty/blank 4.7 or 8.5 GB DVD or Double-Layer DVD-ROM disk and install the Microsoft Windows Vista operating system from that burned DVD disk.

NOTE: Make sure that the service pack 1 and 2 which you are slipstreaming are the OFFLINE installers!!!

Cheers mate and everyone else!

It gets halfway through the installation then seems to stop and says it "installation could not be completed please try again later"

Just download the offline SP1 and SP2 for your Microsoft Windows Vista, slipstream it as I said above and then repair your OS using that burned DVD disk.
