OK my friend bought a vizio monitor hooked up his PC it's shows no signal but after rebooting it a few times it goes to the desk top then the screen turns blue and no signal again and so on and so on. i did get it to stay on the desk top for a few but when i went to make some adjustments to the screen it turns blue again then no signal

what should i look for to see if it's hooked up right? and how do i find out if it its a video card or intregated graphics?

Make sure that everything is screwed in properly...
If the machine has an intergrated graphics card then it will be coming off the main board
(The board that occupies the majority of the case)

If you have a video card installed make sure that it is seated properly, and firmly in it's slot.

If all of the above fails, plug in an old monitor that you know works if you have one... And then set the screen resolution to the minimum spec possible, usually 800x600 pixels. Sometimes new monitors do not work because your current settings cause the image to go "out of range".

I am assuming you have already tried pushing the "auto" button on the monitor???

Good luck!
