No Signal?

I realised a couple of days ago that when i play a game on my computer , the screen shuts down and says '' No signal''. I checked my cables which seemed to be fine and i updated my drivers to see if it would do anything. Nothing worked so i think it's linked to my graphics card. It's an nvidia geforce 9600 gt and my power supply is 500w. Anyone know what may cause the problem?

That sounds like an overheating problem to me.

I had the exact problem on my old PC, and they way I new it was an overheating problem was by taking the side off my case, and sticking a desk fan right next to it with the air blowing onto the video card. That seemed to fix the problem (eventually I bought a VGA cooler which also worked and was a little more subtle :P)

I don't think its overheating because my computer seems pretty cool , its actually cold and my computer is really silent. I've had my graphics card for a couple of months now and i never had overheating problems even when i played games like crysis on super high graphics.

Even if the computer is well cooled, you can still have overheating issues with the video card. I'd try taking the side off and blowing a desk fan in there, even if it doesn't work than you can rule overheating out.

Download this

It's a popular computer diagnostics program, and will give you temps on a variety of things including the video card.

I'm not really sure what could be causing that if it's not overheating. That symptom is one of the real giveaways for overheating. I would still try what I told you to do earlier.
