I just built my system and was waiting for that dreaded time when you hit the power button and ou hope it come on. Well everything came on from what I could see other then when it is hook up into the monitor the monitor says no video input. I have two defferent veido cards and have used both with both saying the same thing. No video input. Is there something wrong with my system could someone help me on what i need to do or just start sending stuff back.

You potentially could have a bad PCI-E socket on the motherboard, do you have 2 PCI-E slots, and if so have you tried plugging one of the cards into the other slot? But before we jump to that conclusion, are you sure that the monitor you're using or the cable itself is also good?

I have moved one card to two diff. slots and tired also have used two diff monitors to see if that was the problem inseatd of the on button on the monitor being green it is orange and also says no video input then goes nothing.

I video card is spinning like it is on, the heatsink is working but still no video. is there a possiblity that the processor could be bad or just the motherboard.

Yes, you could have a problem with the CPU or motherboard. Have you tried one card at a time?

It sounds like you are getting power where it should be. Try re-seating the CPU and RAM.

The processor won't really matter, because if it is making the POST beep, then it should be fine, and you should start to see the information from booting up on the monitor. Therefore, it's probably a bad PCI-E controller, or bad PCI-E interfaces on the motherboard that are getting power to the card, but not actually transferring the graphical data it needs in order to display anything.

Good point DCI. Is the computer posting at all, not just powering on the fans? And do you have any sort of display on the motherboard that gives you a status code (some do)?

THere is only one fan hooked to the motherboard and thats the heatsink. It is working. There is a reset and on and off button on the board its self also.

It may not be a bad CPU, just not making proper contact. It is possible though. Either that or something is wrong with the motherboard.

well i was all happy i finally got the parts in i guess i will send the CPU and the motherboard back to newegg in the morning.
