No video signal

Recently I had to change my cpu and now my computer doesn't want to work anymore. No video signal and keyboard doesn't seem work. Any ideas what the problem could be? There's no onboard card.

Have you tried the old CPU just to confirm the machine still works? If you can confirm this, I'd be sure your motherboard supports the processor, and the bios is up to date.

also make sure you clear the CMOS, otherwise it might still be trying to boot using the config for the old CPU

What's your Motherboard, the old CPU and the new one you put in ?

Are there any post indications and how far can you boot ?

Motherboard - Asus K8V-X

Old CPU - AMD Athlon64 2800+ socket 754 (I think thats what it was called)

New CPU - AMD sempron 3400+ Socket 754

Since the keyboard doesn't seem to be lighting up I guess I could've damage the motherboard when I was taking the cpu out. Just seems odd.

i have the exact same problem as you, but it happened when i was changing the heatsink instead of the processor. However, thinking it was the processor i bought a new one, but this didn't fix the problem. The only thing I can think of that is broken is the motherboard, so im going to get a new one soon, and ill post here if it works or not.

if it doesnt i dunno what im gonna do :(
