No video when getting to Windows XP boot screen - Help!

When booting up, I can see the shuttle screen and watch it boot up, until it hits the windows boot screen. Once it should show the windows xp boot screen, nothing is displayed, and my monitor says it has "no signal." The computer boots up normally (i hear the windows boot theme), but I still have no display.

I've pressed F8 and tried all the different boot options; safe mode nor anything else gives me any display when loading up Windows XP. I've also tried putting my 7600gt in the other pci-e slot, and am giving the same result.

I do not have another video card to test and boot up. Anyone have any ideas on why it wont display anything? The card I had before I installed this 7600gt was a 6600, and it worked perfectly. Unfortunately I sold it a while ago thinking this 7600gt would be easy to install and run.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

So safe mode doesn't work? If you can see the POST then that is a good sign. It means that nothing is faulty and the fault most likely lies with a miscommunication between your software and hardware.

I'm having the same problem currently.
My computer worked fine, but when I bought a DVI cable and tried hooking it up as that (it has DVI and D-Sub outs on the computer), It gave me the same problem.
Then I figured well, I'll just hook the VGA back up, and run it normally.
But now it won't work with that either.

Blargh.

Bump for a response -.-

wow......I have the "EXACT" same problem............its stopping at the xp logo screen and monitor says "no signal". Tried with two different monitors which work good.

HISTORY:

Everything worked fine with my old video card. Bought a "6800 xfx agp" with only DVI outputs. Connected through the DVI to VGA adapter. Everything worked perfectly for days.

Now.......for some strange reason........the above problem occurs. Connecting to the onboard video output produced same results. Haven't tried with the old videocard again.

Very surprised to see others having the same problem

Someone help ??..........plzzz

I know some of you tried safe mode, but It wouldn't hurt to try again. If safemode works go to your display properties and put the resolution at the lowest resolution, and the color quality all the way down, as well as change the monitor refrest rate to 60 herts.( display properties, settings tab, advanced, monitor)

Hi, I had the same problem. But I believe it is a different solution for each card... I have a different card than yours. I have my solution in a great tech support site with free live support. I am sure you will find an answer there.

Here is the page for Graphics Card Support

Just search for your card and click on live support

Good luck

I tried safemode. It gets further than the XP screen. I was able to check the resolution, color depth etc. Everthing was low, anyways. And then the monitor turned off.

But anyways......I changed to my old videocard and there is NO problem. Its either the new video card or its drivers (will try latest drivers).

I'm not sure if you're getting a BSOD (blue screen of death)... Try booting up holding F5 whereas it allows you a different host of options. I seem to recall you can do a chkdsk from there and it may find a corrupted system file to repair. Give it a shot. No promises though.

make sure the vga cord is plugged into your gpu and not your mobo. I had that problem with my lil sister's computer.

When I was having this problem, I was using nvidia 6150 Onboard Graphics.
I still am using the same graphics, actually.
But anyway, I just reinstalled windows and the problem was solved.

No idea what caused it or why, but it's fixed so I couldn't care less.

and no, there's no BSOD
It just goes to No Signal on the monitor and it goes black, but the computer is still powered up and running windows like normal.
There's just no video output going to the monitor.
