I bought a Noctua nh-u9b se2 to replace the incredibly loud AMD heatsink. I read amazing reviews saying it'd cool down up to 10°C less and while it is very silent the CPU temps are exactly the same as they were : 35°C (95°F) on idle, 50°C (122°F) when playing and 58°C (136°F) after running Prime95 for 2 hours.
It looks like very acceptable temps to me but isn't it supposed to be cooler ?

them temps are fine, remeber when you run prime95 you are putting your cpu under 100% load

not many applications put a quad core up to full load for any length of time

35c idle is a good tempreture
