I find my ATI Radeon X800 XT graphics card a bit noisy, is there a way to sort this without buying anything? or if i have to buy something whats the cheapest effective option?

Thanks

That replaces the entire fan/heatsink assembly for your graphics card. What's noisy about your card is the fan most likely. You can try lubing it, but doubt that ill do much. Best bet is to replace the fan. If you can spend a tad more, get what was posted, those cool very well.

Ok thats for that 4W4K3, is this an easy thing to do?
yes its easy to replace the fan. all you do is unscrew it, clean off the thermal paste, put on the new thermal paste, then screw in the new cooler and your done.

:d

I purchased an ATI cooler from my X800 and just replaced the fan, my graphics card is 20C cooler than it was before 55C down to 35C, recomended coolers but for some reason the sound is still there, i know its the graphics card, its more high pitched than other fans, anybody got any sugestions on the sound?

THanks

what cooler do you have? If you're positive the highpitched sound is from the VGA cooler, then its the fan being loud.

Isolate the case, you can get some sound isolating "pads" which you can cut into pieces and have glue on one side and then just attach them to the sides of the case etc.

Kool im also planning to get a gaming case with a see through window, so the pads would not do very good there.

I dont mind much about the sound as long as its doing its job, witch its doing very well btw, ill just concentrate on getting my other parts right :)

Thanks all...
