I'm sort of in the market for a new laptop. I don't absolutely need to buy one, but nonetheless I'm interested in possibly getting a tablet style laptop. I really don't need the tablet capability... it's the small size that is appealing to me.
Candidates have included the Toshiba Portege M700, Fujitsu Lifebook T4215, and the HP Pavilion tx2000z. Right now, I'm leaning toward the HP.
Anyway, my question is this... are there any laptops (particularly tablet style ones) that have a reputation for generating less heat and fan noise?
My wife has a HP tx1000, and I have noticed that it seems to get rather hot and noisy.
In keeping with the guidance in the sticky for this forum...
1. budget. I'd like to keep this purchase under/around $1,500
2. purpose. I use computers mostly to do e-mail, web browsing, downloading my digital camera, word processing and listening to the radio (iTunes). I like portability, reliability and simplicity.
Note: Some of this is a repost from another forum. I posted the first part of this in a "tech help" oriented forum some time ago. Nobody responded, because I guess it wasn't really within the scope of that forum. If you saw this post there, I apologize for the rehash.
