noob needs help

I am wanting to do my first build...
the pc will be for music production and mobile djing.....
i want to use a dual core processor so i can record my sets with out any issues.
What should i be looking for in a pc i know i want to use a rackmount case for mobility purposes. and a video card so i can free up as much of my processo as posible.
i am not looking for nothin flashy but stability is the most important factor in my build.
My questions are what kinda board and cpu combo should i be lookin for?

I need tons of storagehard drive what should i look for in a large hd?
i actually want to run 1 for programs and 2 for storage of music files.
which type of raid should of i run to back upo the files.
and as far as the rest of my build what are the best bang for buck porducts available?
the programs i will be using is rane serato scratch live and either sonar5 or cubase

well considering that u didnt mention doin any gaming then u shuld go with a pentium d, we also need to know ur budget. then based on ur budget we can tell u wat speed u can afford. also ur gonna want to get a normal 300-500gb 7200rpm hard drive. i dont think u need any raptor drives. and a video card that wont free up much space i beleive wuld be a card with 512mb of ram so it runs on its own ram. but mainly ur budget is needed

Uhh.... you sure? Im thinking shotguncase/shuttle would be much more portable than a case u need to bolt down to a rack....
