I am only using my computer for watching online live hockey (nhl gamecenter live), every once in a while it will be choppy. I have an 8mbs cable connection. Will increasing ram help out? What about video card? I will list my system below.

Also, i am just connected through VGA cable, will buying an hdmi converter improve pic quality? Or do i have to get the one with the scaler? And will a better graphics card help pic quality?

2.8ghz P4 HT
512ram
integrated video card
8 mps cable connection

everybody is telling me that better memory makes everything better so i guess you could try that. however im not a computer genius by any standards

A VGA cable is perfectly fine, you won't notice any difference streaming NHL games if you use HDMI over VGA, or get a different video card. The quality of online streaming usually isn't very good.

you should be fine with the intergrated video card since you're streaming the video and quality shoudn't be too high anyway

upgrade your ram to a gig or more and you should be golden :D
