Hey, in a couple pictures of people's computers i have seen that some of them keep there side panel off the computer, revealing all the parts in it. is that for better cooling? u would have to be delicate with it though, and dusts will get in more easily

I wouldn't do it.. As far as what you've seen, was it just showing what they had, or did they really say they kept it that way?

it was in the thread where people post like their computer station and setup, and i saw people with their side panel off, they didnt say anything about keep it that way, but yeah they were probably just showcasing their computer

I keep mine off, gives me better cooling, but the dust is horrible! Once I get a better case (cough, never) Ill leave it on.

My server on the other hand, which is on the floor and not the desk, has its case on all the time, there is a chance a mouse might get in/too much dust :O!

Better cooling via open-case vs. constantly cleaning away dust off HSF to continue to have better cooling via open-case...

Even if you win, you lose. Just keep the panel on, have an intake fan and exhaust fan, and only really worry about dust every 3-4 months.

3-4 months? Try every week haha :D. That's just me though. I'm a clean freak when it comes to my computer, stereo, and desk. I like it to be clean at all times.

yeah i guess if you dont have a very good cooling system, itd be better to keep the side panel off and keep dusting it, but its gotta be a hassle
