This is my new motherboard (bought it form e buyer as i am in UK)

I have read that the supplied north bridge chip set cooler fan is quite noisy - i was wondering if there is an alternative, something quieter if it turns out to be noisy. I cant seem to find many alternative apart form this.

Does anyone know of any other north bridge heat sinks and where i can get hold of one?

I don't really want something massive as i may be looking into SLI into the future.

Thanks

It's not actually that big. It's only big enough to strap a 7cm fan on (which you have to buy yourself, but the heatsink comes with zip ties for the fan).

If a graphics card was to be put in the slot furthest from the slot, it would hit the Thermaltake heatsink, due to the card going directly over the chipset.

I had a motherboard similar to that... the NF4UK8AA. The northbridge HSF looks exactly the same, and I never had any noise problems from it, but I did get all other kinds of problems from the motherboard.

Why would you have such an elaborate cooling system for just the northbridge? Its not very hot anyway and I find that stock cooling is fine.
