northbridge for mobo core 2 duo's

Just wondering but can anyone suggest a really good northbridge for core2duo mobo?

The 975x is very good, followed by the 965.

i'm beginning to see wifi alot, could you possibly tell me what it's good for? i've tried to read it through wiki but the explenation was to complicated for me little brain!

Hmmm

Basically, the two that cross my mind right away are:

Intel 975X
Intel G965
Intel P965
Intel Q965

However, I would recommend you go for the 975X

WiFi isn't a chipset. Some motherboards are coming with WiFi built-in as an additional feature.

WiFi in a motherboard is just a built-in wireless card, so you dont need a third party one.

i hate intel chipsets. i regret buying one. get an nforce 4, or 5 chipset. if not get 975X.

i have a northbridge 975x but it won't support core 2. why is this?
