Does anyone know how to tell the difference between Wiliamette and Northwood? I have a P4 1.7GhZ. The voltage in the hardware monitor says 1.696 Volts

I'm thinking a 1.7 is Willamette
Quite correct.
Whillimete: 1300,1400,1500,1600,1700,1800,1900,2000
NorthwoodA= 1600A,1800A, 2000A, 2200A, 2400A

Yeah, I think 2.0 was the beginning of the Northwood core and the last of the Willamette core.
The 2.0A was the most controversial but not the first :)

Well when the "2.0GHz mark" was reached, Intel annouced the new naming convention (by tacking that extra "A" on there). That's when people began to ask questions about the difference between 2.0 (Whillimette) and the 2.0A (Northwood) and then the extended pipeline of the Northwoods were really scrutinized (dont 4get people were still skeptical about P3 vs Whillimette at the time)
