Norton 2007

i would dump Norton, and download AVG Free 7.5, it's free, and i think way better than that, you also need a anti-spyware program, Avg Anti-Spyware 4.0...

could probrably be infected with something..

Norton has been natorious for hogging system resources. I would ditch norton and get Nod32 along with zonealarm free and your computer will be a ton faster and safer.

ive been using Norton internet security 2007 ever since it came out on the market and my computer still runs smoothly and my web browsing has fast sped as well and no problems what so ever

Well, it depends. Norton as said above uses resources more than others. What would be your computer specs as of now? Also, which product of Norton's 2007 series are you running?

Norton Internet Security 2007 & slow browsing

Thanks for the fast replies, guys. I run Dell 340, 256M, 20 Gig, 1,8 GHz. I e-mailed Norton, they suggested a defrag run and to eliminate any start-up programs not needed. I'll check out your suggestions as well and if any info I listed here gives anyone a better clue, I'll check back. Your friend and mine, Turnerboy.

Well, the older Norton programs runs quite well on older systems such as yours, not sure how 2007 works, so that might be one of the reasons, your specs. Other than that, the startup programs might release some resources for booting but, might not effect your connection. The defrag might help if you have never one it before.

Let us know what happen and we can take it from there.

Norton IS 2007 slowing my web browser...

I defrag'd- no diff. After shutting down what I thought were unnecessay startup items, when I tried to restart, the comp would not not shut down. I'm pretty sure I didn't turn off any thing major. It did seem to load a bit faster. However, upon restart a message informs me I should return to my original configurations. I'm running XP Pro with service pack 2.
