Norton and its Problems!!!

Hi, i am having problems with Norton 2005. And i am trying to uninstall but it would tell me some files cant be deleted or curropt and needs to reinstalled to fix this problem. i reinstalled and the same problem. i am confused and getting really irritated with norton.

What i need to know is how could i completely remove norton and all files that came along with it permenatly? It is affecting the installation of McAfee and i cant install properly. what should be done....?

Uninstall it and then manualy uninstall any left over files from the registry! If you dont know how to download a freeware program called regcleaner to clean up your registry! PS: Another thing that might cause this is because norton might be running files! Boot into safe mode and try to uninstall before following instructions above!

go to the site and there is a section that will allow you to troubleshoot this. if its the problem i think it is they will give a small program to download that should sort this out

ya, i use it all the time (the symantec removal tool), get it from here .

Edit: oh, it's called symNRT.exe
