Norton AV2001 on windows xp?

I'm having some problems installing norton anti virus 2001 on windows xp... is it becuz it's an old version or what.. the error message i am getting is:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application

No it doesn't! Maybe you suck.Norton is great, while mcAfee, hehe, mcafee is shit.For me panda is much better then mcafee.
