norton-avast issues

i normally run avast, but i accidentally installed norton internet security 2005(no clue how i did it) and when i try to uninstall it it says an administrater account has to be signed in. i cannot find how to turn it on. any help? my avast won't run properly if norton is installed :(
 
ouch, thats a wierd one.. (This is what i would do, please in no way do this unless you got a brain or balls)

I would run regedit.exe

Go to find next
type in Norton and delete EVERY single string thats attached to that word and beleieve me, theres alot of em. Norton is a virus in its own sense. It just takes over your computer lol.

I got rid of norton from my registry before, it was a 7 hour mission but i didnt have to reformat my computer to get rid of that program.
 
where, specifically, should i look in regedit?

deleted so far: symnatec in currentuser/software
symnatec in localmachine/software
 
just dont blame me when your computer doesnt turn on..

All you have to do is go to find next, it will look EVERYwhere. CTRL+F i think.
 
alphatronix dont advise people to use regedit, regedit is for advanced users only your more likely going to help them cause more problems
 
lol. thank you for telling me that. maybe thats why i specifically said, DONT DO WHAT I SAY on the first post lol..

I wouldnt know anything about computers if i didnt screw up millions of times a day playing around.
