norton or mcafee

i hate norton with a passion, i have yet seen it find a virus on my computer, and i have had many... avast found all mine. i dislike norton :)

i liked norton, but after a certain period of time.. you will have to rebuy, reregister, etc.. because it wont update you anymore.. well, personally, i like Panda Titanium Antivirus which i am using right... i think so far, its one of the best... but if you want something free...try some of those freebies everyone recommended

Trend-Micro's antivirus is quite good and is a low resource user (it's not free but if your paying for one instead of using a free solution its good)

I agree 100%

PC-cillin what I use and I love it compare to nortans and macafee. I hated nortans. Macafee was not much better in my opioun. Pc-cillin been great to me in my opioun. If you going to buy any I would get pc-cillin internet security 2005. I think it like $50 for one license and $80 for three license. You could buy it in the store but I had no need for a hardcopy so I just went to Trend-Micro website paid for it and downloaded it.

mgoldb2 & computerhakk,

both right. Trendmicro and Panda, are very good programs. You'll notice that I've put their online scanners on our security sticky, not nortons or mcafees. Norton and Mcafee do have the names that have been around since the beginning (it was Mr. McAfee who was first, Peter Norton stepped into the game after him), so althought Trendmicro & Panda may have a better product, they have to fight an uphill battle against the entrenched Norton & McAfee progs.
