not enough virtual memory

my pc keeps shutting down programs and saying thre is not enough vitual memory is there anything i can do to prevent this from happening.thanks in advance

Or find out why you're using so much memory. Does it make sense to you? Maybe you've got too many running processes. That's what I'd look at first.
