So here is the short version of the story: I wanted to upgrade from xp to 7 but it wouldnt boot for some reason so i pulled the hard drive and stuck it into another laptop i had lying around, it booted worked perfectly win 7 works great right? wrong so i pull the drive and put it back into its original laptop when i went to turn it on, it says that changes were made and it cant boot into windows and to run system repair, so i did and then it cant find the problem so why does it work in one laptop but not the other???

You have to install windows while its in the computer that its gonna be used in. You can't install it in one computer and put it in a different one as it now has all different hardware and will have problems booting up like it is now.

ahhh makes sense, but now problem is though it will not boot up to disc so that i can install windows on it. For some reason it wont do it even after setting it to boot to disc. And i know the disc is bootable because it worked for the other computer.
