Not running games idealy, computer or ISP?

Hey guys, I am concerned about my PC.

I am running a custom build, and my GFX cards are dual GTX 570s.

When i run games (mainly WoW) it runs very jumpy and laggy.

Is it my internet or GFX cards? I set the setting to high then to low and saw a ~5 FPS difference. The game is playable, but should be much better since it's a 3,000 dollar build. It runs at 25 FPS average.

I ran it on my macbook and saw better performance.

I use AT&T U-Verse.

Your connection seems decent enough for online gaming,Whats the full specs of your system?...it could be just how far the servers are from you?

Cpu...Ram,Hard disk,Power supply,Is the system overclocked? etc

Ram is 8 GB ddr3 1333
CPU is i7 2600k OCd to 4.5 ghz
Boot drive is a 160 gb WD 7,200 rpm
WoW is located on a 1tb same as above
Power is a corsair 850
MSI z68 gd55 mobo

Could be that your running the game from your second drive and not ur main drive. Ive got the same with Crysis 2 because my main SSD drive didnt have enough room for it and i notice sometimes this is laggy during heavy game play and i can hear the hard drive spin up so would say to move it to your main drive so it can access the data alot quicker!

Otherwise quite a nice build :P
 
No expert here, but would think you should be pulling more than 25 fps avg with that setup. Even if you are pulling from a second HD, I can't see it pulling it down that much.

Did your computer run WOW better at one point or is this a brand new install on it?
 
make sure your drivers are up to date, and idk but i do know that some games don't go well with dual gfx cards.

Oops, I missed that bit about dual 570's :o

A fragmented hard drive can cause stuttering and fps drops in games. I would suggest the OP use Auslogics Disk Defrag and run the Defrag and Optimise option. It will defrag the files while moving them to the faster part of the HDD
 
Did some research, and with your system and a single GTX 570, you should be maxing WOW. Wow is not optimized to run with dual cards, although it is done often. (usually you just dont see much of a differnce between one and two cards).

Ive seen on the forums as of late that a lot of people are having trouble with FPS due to spyware/adware/virus. You might want to run a few scans to double check everything.

Also, I would assume that you are running Windows 7, but I have also seen several posts that Vista is having issues with drivers and compatability with WOW.
 
OMG my laptop has vista and even though the specs are farrr high enough to max it.. it wont break 30 FPS. but my shitty 5 year old PC will max it and its running xp..

vista must have something to do with wow being crappy...

Yeah, found out the hard way that Vista and WOW don't mix well....:mad:
 
I'll take the bridge out of the cards and try, I have a program that will link the two cards.

I will also try and run a fragment on my hard drive.

I use CA antivirus, and it seems ok. I'll un install it and use something different. Any suggestions?

I use windows 7 yes, I am going to purchase a couple 60 GB SSDs and put OS X Lion on one and move windows to the other.

I run WoW on my main drive with 1tb space on it. its a 5,2 or 7,9 rpm not sure.

8gb of 1333 ddr3 ram.

If anyone else has suggestions let me know thanks.
 
Also, when I bought this computer about a month ago it ran WoW no problem.

Now it just started doing this after I removed my multi USB/card reader since it caused boot problems.
 
Also, I run WoW on windowed/fullscreen

if I switch to the other screen WoW stays open but it lags a lot more, is this because they are bridged?
