Not Sure whats wrong

First of all, I dont no if this even belongs under motherboards, so dont be mad because it may not. My problem is this. When I turn on my PC (Windows 2000 PRO) it cannot load past the "Intel Inside" screen. Restarting or even turning of the power from the tower buttons then does not work and my only option is to turn my computer of from the switch in the back, when I turn it back on, the same thing happens. I noticed however when starting my computer something weird. A message saying :
DR is missing
ss any key to restart.
Im assuming that it is suposed to say press, meaning the first two letters of the first word are missing....I press any key and the computer doesnt restart, just repeats the message, but when I would restart the PC my self from the tower, nothing unusually would happen and everything would work
This happened a couple times before my " Intel Inside" problem
any ideas?

DR missing?

Hmm recheck your IDE / SATA Strap and make sure there pluged in also make sure you got power the harddrive that you want to boot. Go in bios and check the general screen to see if IDE 0 or SATA has detect a harddrive..

Than find boot settings in your computer and change it to your harddrive

if you have the Ribbon (Sorry not Strap) than make sure you have it plugged into the motherboard IDE slot

If you have SATA, than make sure you have it plugged into the SATA slots in the motherboard

If you don't understand any of this.. What computer do you have? like model name and what brand and i'll find out for you
 
if the 'pre' is cut off of the word 'press', then it's probably safe to assume the first three letters on the first line are cut off too, meaning _ _ _dr missing. could be a driver or something got deleted or corrupted. can you at least get into your bios? if so, check your drives and your ram to see if they show up there.

Sounds like you have "ntldr is missing press any key to restart" error message. Which means its trying to boot but from an invalid drive. Its possible that your XP installation is corrupt. I've googled your error message and these are the hits that came up. Read through them and see if they help.

Sounds like you might have to reset your cmos or boot to the xp cd and copy a couple files to hard drive.
