Not sure where to put this...

My laptop has been having trouble booting up. It does it fine and dandy, but it take literally over 5 minutes. It passes the loading screen, then sits at a black screen for a couple minutes, before deciding to finally show my desktop and everything. I put this topic in this forum because though im not sure what the culprit is, im sorta blaming it on vista. Any ideas on how to speed up my startup?

My laptop is an HP Compaq 6720s, and im running Vista Business.
