Hello. I am out of my element with this computer problem. My wife and I have 2 computers, the desktop being the older one, and a one month old, ASUS Notebook. The desktop Gateway, Quad Core, is about 4 years old.
Our usage is this, my wife plays FarmVille, I frequent Gun Forums. She started having loading issues around a year ago, first using FireFox. The problem went away when we started using Chrome, but came back. I took the tower in for service, and was told the unit was loaded up with dirt. They cleaned it up, did a Restore. This worked for a day. I should mention that I have a Profile, and she does also. I wasn't really having problems with my side. I could load pretty fast, and only seldom, had troubles. Her problems were mostly regarding the Adobe Flash Players crashing.
So I thought by purchasing a new laptop, her troubles would be solved. WRONG!!!!
Now, when she signs into her profile, the blue ring just spins, and won't load anything. I can sign out of her profile, sign into mine, and quickly go anywhere I want. We tried her signing into Facebook on my side, and do her Farmville, and it worked faster than she had EVER done on her profile. Even on both computers.
So we seem to be having the problem with something in her Start-Up/Loading, which isn't on my Start/Load process. Any advise would be APPRECIATED!!! Nothing worse than spending $960.00 on a gift, and not having it work.

So issues with browsing I'm guessing? Do you still get issues after clearing web browser history & cache?

Thank You for responding. I spent some time yesterday with ASUS Tech Support. That was their suggestion, which I did. I have Uninstalled/Reinstalled Google Chrome, a total of 3 times. This Asus, which I am on now, works great for me, but not her. I am running Windows 8, and Google Chrome.

Have you looked at your wifes installed programs? Could be some program she keeps reinstalling. Or try run a full scan with a anti spyware/virus program.

by the way, I bought this ASUS at BestBuy, and they loaded the Windows 8, and the Trend Security. I have a Premium Warranty, with Geek Squad, through BestBuy.

I have deep scanned 4 times. As far as the start-up programs, I am not experianced enough to know what isn't supposed to be there.

I am at my wits end here!!! If someone can help me, PLEASE call me Phil Bass 248.467.0243. I found where the Start up programs are on this laptop, but I do not know what SHOULD be there. My Wife has given up on using any computers. And she normally spends hours on one. PLEEEEEAAAASSSSEEEE HELP!!!!!

I take it you are in the startup tab in task manager correct? If you are confused on what you want to disable just google each of the programs listed. Disable it if you can confirm that it will not harm the OS. If you have doubts that it needs to be there, leave it be.

Even though you have antivirus give it another scan with malwarebytes. Good to have another program look at it.

http://www.malwarebytes.org/

use the free version. It is just a scanner.

Let us know how that goes.

If this is a new laptop and her account is having the same issues as the old laptop did, then it has to do with either a program that she installed or possibly did you transfer data from the old one to the new one?

It seems to be part of the start up using google chrome. Something transfered from the old computer when she sync'd. Here is the task manager from her side of the laptop.

The logitech entry and both adobe entries don't need to run at bootup, you can disable those.

I will try as soon as she gets off it. The unit will work for her when she enters Bing from the start screen. I will disable, and report any results, Thank You.

Also, if her profile was synced to the new computer its very possible that there is some sort of malware/virus just in her profile. I suggest to download and run malwarebytes to scan for infections.

I disabled the r
3 you suggested. It loaded far enough that I searched for facebook, and it came up to the search results page. We are making progress. To do the Malware scan, can I do that from my profile?

No, it should be done from hers for best results. Do the following from her account and post the logs requested.

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here or here and save it to your desktop.
  • Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
  • At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to
    • Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
    • and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  • then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version. Please keep updating until it says you have the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select Perform quick scan, then click Scan.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • A log will be saved automatically which you can access by clicking on the Logs tab within Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

If for some reason Malwarebytes will not install or run please download and run Rkill.scr, Rkill.exe, or Rkill.com. If you are still having issues running rkill then try downloading these renamed versions of the same program.

EXPLORER.EXE
IEXPLORE.EXE
USERINIT.EXE
WINLOGON.EXE

But DO NOT reboot the system and then try installing or running Malwarebytes. If Rkill (which is a black box) appears and then disappears right away or you get a message saying rkill is infected, keep trying to run rkill until it over powers the infection and temporarily kills it. Once a log appears on the screen, you can try running malwarebytes or downloading other programs.

Download the HijackThis installer from here.
Run the installer and choose Install, indicating that you accept the licence agreement. The installer will place a shortcut on your desktop and launch HijackThis.

Vista and Windows 7 users must right click on the hijackthis icon and click on run as. If the run as option doesn't appear then press and hold the shift key while right clicking on the icon to get it to appear.

Click Do a system scan and save a logfile

Most of what HijackThis lists will be harmless or even essential, don't fix anything yet.

When the hijackthis log appears in a notepad file, click on the edit menu, click select all, then click on the edit menu again and click on copy. Come back to your reply and right click on your mouse and click on paste.

Post the logfile that HijackThis produces along with the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware log

I ran the malware program. I did both computers, the new laptop came back clean, the desktop is still running. I ran the program on my profile as hers won't load. As I said, it came back clear, no bugs.

Log onto her account and run both scans. If malwarebytes comes back clean, just post a hijackthis log so I can look at it.

I did the hijack program. Am unsure how to post it for you to see. After doing the scan, I went to her side and couldn't find it in her aps to run it on her side. I re ran it on mine, and still do not know how to post the results for you. I will photograph it instead, and upload from Photobucket.
