Not working...

Well we built a new computer last night, and everything is connected properly, I'm sure of that.
But the trouble is, the computer just won't turn on..

When everything is unplugged 'cept CPU and RAM, it still won't work..

When nothing is plugged in (not even motherboard) the PSU doesn't even look like it's working - the fan never comes on.

Any ideas?
Thanks alot..

have u tried to use it on different power outlets?

when i built my comp, the outlet was broke and i didnt know it and i took me hours to realize that

Is it a power supply issue, is the power supply working?

Err.. I don't quite understand what you mean.

I have no way of testing the power supply, that is the problem.
It's brand new though..

did you try 1 stick of RAM at a time? switch em through each slot, 1 a time. it could have a conflict, this happened 2 my Compaq.

Its possible, its happend to me in the past.

They're connected properly..

But now I dunno what to do.
I don't know whether the PSU is faulty..
Or the mobo..
Or what..
:(

EDIT: I put the RAM in the slot the ASUS Mobo manual suggested.

Well if you plug in the psu to the wall it should at least get the fan spinning, even if is not plugged in to the mobo.

Thank you again.
It seems it is the PSU then..
Darn it.
Thanks for your help :)

if i can remember right, my computer wouldnt power on at all, and it was because of the ram, i suggest u try what i said before u go buy another PSU.

reseat the ram. unproperly seated ram can make a psu seem like its not working.

Done it, repeatedly.
Every slot, and my dad assures me it's installed correctly :D

Ok, just one final question, is the problem likely to be the motherboard, or the PSU?
