hi sorry if this is a silly question but i am dum

i have an acer aspire 3600 i want to upgrade the ram i open it up and checked the stick for the type needed to get more ram.

but i can not find anything with the same info just close matches.

yepp as long as the Pc2-5300 are the same and the DDR 667 match, you should be good to go.

also im assuming that as of now you only have ONE stick of the 512, and your wanting to get another stick, so u will have 1gh (2x 512mb)??

and im currently under the impression that either you could have problems if you mix brands of ram or even dif models together. ive always heard that to minimize the possible problems you should buy a kit (two sticks in one package) or at least buy the same brand and model of sticks.

someone pls correct me if i am wrong, but i would find out before your buy. OR if that is the case you will just need to buy a second stick of what your already getting. GL
